Aaj Khabor (English), Kolkata, West Bengal, 15/05/2023 : 36,000 primary education workers in the state are going to lose their jobs on a single order of the High Court. This time, the Board of Primary Education Council applied for a stay order in the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court on their behalf.

A total of 36,000 untrained employees lost their jobs on the orders of Justice Abhijit Ganguly while conducting the trial in the recruitment corruption case in the state. The judge said in his order that qualified and trained candidates should be appointed within the next three months. After this directive, the Primary Education Board became more active. However, the education agency said that the 36,000 workers who were being axed had received training and were hired in accordance with all norms.

On this day, the Board of Primary Education appealed to the division bench of the High Court challenging the order of Justice Abhijit Ganguly. Responding to the plea of the board, the division bench of the High Court accepted the case and the matter is scheduled to be heard tomorrow. The agitating would-be teachers were hopeful as the High Court ordered the retrenchment of 36,000 untrained workers and re-employment. But on this day, as the division bench accepted the case filed by the state primary board, they were again disappointed.
