Aaj Khabor (English), Baemer, Rajashthan, 29/07/2020 : A scene of brutal and inhumane torture by the police went viral and one police officer has taken cognizance. The incident took place in Barmer, Rajasthan.
The viral video shows a man being tied to a tree and beaten by a police officer. The man was then
forced to drink urine. As soon as this viral video reached Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma of Barmer, The police started to take action. Anand Sharma said, "This is the case of Chothan police station. One man was tied to a tree by a police officer and beaten, after which he was forced to drink urine. When we went to investigate, we found out that the victim and the police officer were from the same family. They may be in conflict with each other. "
Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma said, "Since they are both from the same family, we came to know that they wanted to settle the matter by discussing among themselves and no complaint has been lodged with the police on behalf of the victim. We found out the whole matter from social media. However, I sent a special officer to the spot. He is investigating the whole matter. Initially, I found out both of them had a strained relationship with a woman. Since the victim has not lodged any complaint with the police, we have not been able to take any action yet.However, I can say that in this case, the culprit will must be punished."
