Aaj Khabor (English), Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, 09/05/2020 : When state governments are busy bringing back migrant workers to their respective states amid a lock-down situation across the country, a different picture emerges in Jammu and Kashmir. The government of Jammu and Kashmir reinstated the migrant workers trapped there.
The third phase of lock down is going on in the whole country. Migrant workers are in great danger when they go to work in different states of the country as all work is stopped at this time. Due to the closure of work, they are not able to go to Vine State to earn money and are not able to eat properly every day. They are not able to return to their home state as transport is closed everywhere. These migrant workers are in real crisis. While some of them were able to return to their home states, most of the workers have not yet been able to return to their home states.
There are various tensions between the central government and the state governments over their return to their respective states. But there was good news in Union Territories like Jammu and Kashmir, while maintaining social distance, migrant workers were engaged to build roads in a place in Rajouri.
According to the government, these workers have been employed with all possible security measures. So are the migrant workers stuck there. They are getting wages instead of the jobs they have got, and they are also getting daily rations. So right now those workers are no longer willing to go back to their home state, they are very happy to get a new job.
