6 migrant workers killed & 3 injured in road accident in U.P.

Aaj Khabor (English) Mujaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, 14/05/2020 : Being failed to arrange a car or train, the migrant workers were faced a road accident on their way back to their village on foot. Six migrant workers were killed and three others injured in a road accident near Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh late last night.
Millions of people from different states across the country went to other States in search of work. Many people have lost their jobs due to the lock down, they have not been able to return to their homes due to the closure of public transport. However, a limited number of Shramik special trains are running across the country to repatriate migrant workers. But that system is also inadequate. So many people are walking huge distances and returning to their villages.

Yesterday, a group of migrant workers was returning to their own village in Bihar on foot. Suddenly a bus speeding on the Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur national highway crushed them and left. The tragic incident happened late last night. Six migrant workers died on the spot. Three others were seriously injured and taken to a local hospital.

Police have filed a case against the driver of the deadly bus (an unidentified person). Uttar Pradesh police are investigating the whole incident. The migrant workers are said to be residents of Gopalganj area of ​​Bihar.
