2 persons detained as Jaish-e-Mohammed linked at Badgam

Aaj Khabor (English), Badgam, Jammu & Kashmir, 10/05/2020 : Police and Army operations are in full swing across the Jammu and Kashmir Valley. Police has arrested two suspects from a check post in Badgaon in the state, both of whom have been linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed.

On the May 8th, while on duty at the Chadura checkpost in Badgaon, CRPF Battalion No. 161, Rashtriya Rifles 53 battalion and Special Operations Group personnel stopped a vehicle on suspicion. There were two passengers in the car. Plenty of books, leaflets, posters and other materials of the banned Jaish-Mohammed organization were found from them.

The two suspects were detained by the jawans and later arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Zone Police. After initial interrogation, it was revealed that they were working for the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed to transport and shelter militants in the Kashmir Valley; The two arrested are identified as Mohammad Latif Koka and Shahil Manzoor Waja. A case has been filed against them, under the UAPA section for being involved in illegal activities.
