Aaj Khabor (English) New Delhi, 01/02/2020 : Once again after Jamia, this time at Shahinbag, Delhi, a person opened fire today threatening the protesters of Shahinbag.
A group of people have been protesting against the Citizens' Amendment Act and the NRC for several days in Delhi's Shahinbag. The streets of a busy area of Delhi have been blocked for some time for this. It is alleged that a young man opened fire on his pistol when he approached the stage.
Police immediately arrested that person. Police said person approached to the stage at Saheenbagh protesters and fired two shots, but he did not shoot at anybody, he fired at zero.
The young man's name was known as Kapil, and before the shooting, he was shouting, "Only the rule of the Hindus will prevail here."
A similar incident few days ago in the Jamia area of Delhi, another man opened fire on CAA opponents. Police also arrested him. Today, this person has been arrested and interrogated by the police.
